Rek'NarashChapter 1, Part 1: Arrival
The familiar humming sound of a space vessel's reactor core was barely audible inside the large, round, darkened room, at the center of which a large holographic image of a familiar planet slowly revolved, standing nearly 5 meters tall. On its orange tainted surface, signs of a barren wasteland of a heavily industrialized planet, several red crosshairs marked the locations of, clear at this scale, large cities and military installations. Some of those markers were aimed somewhere in the planet's orbit, most likely at defense installations as well. All of those markers had a small link on them, incoherent symbols to the average Human, likely in the language of the people that made the hologram. The only sound to resonate higher than the core's low humms were those of slow metallic footsteps echoing throughout the room, giving the impression that the dark room was, indeed, incredibly vast.
